Privacy Policy
This page explains what PDFStrong does and does not do with information when you use the site.
Last updated: 2026-11-06
In short
- The PDF files you add to a tool are processed in your browser. They are not sent to us.
- There are no accounts, and we do not ask for your name or email address to use any tool.
- The site does not store your files on your device after you close the page.
- When advertising is shown, advertising partners may collect some data. This is explained below.
Files you add to the tools
All tools run as JavaScript in your browser. A file you add is read into the memory of the open tab and processed there, in a background worker that is shut down when the job ends. The files and the result stay in memory only until you press Start over, remove them, or close or reload the tab. We do not receive, store, read or log your files, and we cannot recover them for you. Download your result before leaving the page if you need to keep it.
The site does not write your documents to browser storage such as local storage or IndexedDB. When you download a result, your browser may keep a copy in its normal downloads location, which is outside our control.
Passwords you type
The Protect PDF and Unlock PDF tools ask for a password. It is used in your browser, in the same background worker that handles the file, to encrypt or open the document. It is not sent to us, not stored and not logged, and the field is emptied as soon as the job is done. A password that PDFStrong never receives cannot be recovered by us: keep your own copy.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, the servers that deliver this site (our hosting provider) may record technical details of each request, such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser type. These logs are used to keep the service running and secure and to diagnose errors. They do not contain your files, because those are never sent.
At the time of writing the site does not use analytics software. If that changes, this page will be updated before it happens.
Cookies and advertising
The site itself does not set cookies. The site is funded by advertising, and when ads are shown they are served by a third party such as Google AdSense. Advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad and, where permitted, show ads based on your interests. We do not control and cannot access the data these partners collect, and no document content is shared with them.
Where the law requires your consent for such technologies, for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, ads that rely on them are shown only after you consent. You can manage personalised advertising from Google through Google’s Ads Settings or through aboutads.info, and your browser lets you block or delete cookies.
Children
The site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we do not collect your files or create profiles, we hold very little data about visitors. Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, or to object to its use. To make a request, or to ask anything about this policy, use the contact page.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.
