Your files never leave your device
Each tool is a program that your browser downloads once and then runs locally. When you add a PDF, it is read from your disk into the memory of the open tab and worked on there, in a background process that is shut down when it finishes.
You can check this yourself. Open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab and use a tool: no request carries your document. When you press Start over or close the tab, the document is released from memory.
What to expect
