About PDFStrong

Plain PDF tools that do one job each and keep your documents on your own device.

What it is

PDFStrong is a small set of free tools for working with PDF files. At the moment there are 14: Merge PDF, Split PDF, Extract PDF Pages, Delete PDF Pages, Reorder PDF Pages, Rotate PDF, JPG to PDF, PDF to JPG, PDF to PNG, Compress PDF, Protect PDF, Unlock PDF, PDF Metadata Viewer and PDF Page Counter. Each has its own page that explains what it does, shows an example and answers the questions people usually have, including what it cannot do.

How your documents are handled

Every tool runs in your web browser using JavaScript. A PDF you add is read from your device into the memory of the open tab, processed there and offered back to you as a download. It is not sent to our servers, saved, or logged, and there are no accounts. You can check this yourself with your browser’s developer tools: the Network tab shows no upload while a tool runs.

Why some files are refused

A PDF that is password-protected cannot be read without its password, and a damaged file cannot be read at all. Rather than produce blank or incomplete pages, the tools stop and tell you which file is the problem and what to do about it. Very large files can exhaust a browser’s memory, so each tool states its limits.

How it is funded

PDFStrong is free to use and is supported by advertising. Advertisements are labelled, kept away from the tool controls and the download buttons, and are never placed where they could be mistaken for a button. See the Privacy Policy for what advertising partners may collect when ads are shown.
